Baltimore, MD — Ava Grace May, an actress associated with Backstage, is currently facing a defamation lawsuit valued at $30,000. The legal action follows accusations May made against YouTuber Levi Trumbull, alleging he stalked her. Court filings in Baltimore County Circuit Court detail the claims and counterclaims involved.
The issue originated in August 2024 when May responded to a casting call posted by Trumbull, a YouTuber with 118,000 subscribers. Following a selection process, May was chosen for the role, and a meeting was arranged on August 21, 2024, in Frederick, Maryland, to finalize the engagement. At this meeting, Trumbull presented contracts and provided a $100 advance for travel expenses.
According to the lawsuit, May expressed anxiety over the contract terms and requested additional time for review. Despite assurances to return the documents and the advance, she failed to do so, leading Trumbull to make multiple requests for their return, all of which went unanswered.

In September 2025, May released a song on Spotify suggesting she was being stalked. Subsequently, Trumbull attempted to resolve the matter privately, offering May a chance to retract her statements. However, May did not respond to these overtures.
On December 8, 2025, Trumbull initiated formal legal proceedings. The lawsuit seeks damages of at least $30,000 and requests a court order for May to issue a public apology and cease making further defamatory statements.
The case is currently pending a damages hearing after May failed to respond within the legally required timeframe, resulting in a default judgment against her. The hearing will determine the final damages awarded to Trumbull.
