EverQuest Capital Partners has launched the EverQuest EIS Fund II, a UK Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) fund dedicated to later-stage ventures and scale-up businesses. The fund targets companies operating in advanced processes, materials, and design technologies.
The EverQuest EIS Fund II aims to invest in high-growth Deep MakeTech businesses. These businesses focus on advanced science and engineering technologies used in designing, manufacturing, scaling, and industrializing complex products and materials.
The fund seeks companies with evident commercial momentum and defined scaling and exit strategies. It targets sectors such as advanced manufacturing, life sciences, semiconductors, sustainable materials, energy, automotive, agriculture, and defense.
A notable aspect of EverQuest’s approach is its partnership with the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), which provides industrial innovation support and has collaborated with industry giants like GSK, Pfizer, and Rolls-Royce.
The fund targets companies operating in advanced processes, materials, and design technologies.
The fund is structured to qualify for EIS reliefs, contingent on individual circumstances and HMRC regulations. It provides investors access to companies tackling genuine industrial challenges, leveraging the investment team's track record of £1.7 billion in cumulative realized exits.
The fund's strategy includes disciplined entry pricing, active portfolio support, and strategic exit preparation. It aims to construct a focused portfolio of later-stage businesses with technical and commercial progress, with capital deployment expected over a defined investment period. Target returns are projected at 3 to 5 times the invested capital over 3-5 years.
Collaboration with Kin Capital ensures robust governance and disciplined execution, managing over £750 million of venture capital assets for numerous investors.
The EIS continues to be pivotal in the UK growth capital market, facilitating significant investments into innovative SMEs, particularly in technology-led sectors. While EIS investments involve high risk and illiquidity, they can yield attractive returns and fund innovation and job creation.
EverQuest EIS Fund II aims to support companies with strong fundamentals and credible scale-up plans, maintaining a disciplined investment approach. The fund's partnership with CPI combines capital with industrial expertise and scale-up capability, supporting businesses transitioning from proven technology to commercial reality.
