Abrego Garcia reported to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office shortly after his release, as scheduled. Legal representatives requested the court to prohibit further detention actions against him.
U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis stated that Abrego Garcia cannot be detained again until a court hearing on the motion for a temporary restraining order occurs. The judge noted that Abrego Garcia is likely to succeed in any forthcoming requests for relief from ICE detention.
