Harvard Medical School Morgue Manager Sentenced for Theft and Sale of Body Parts

Cedric Lodge, who managed the morgue for over two decades, received the sentence from a US District Judge in Pennsylvania on Tue, Jun 15, 2023.

The 58-year-old Lodge pleaded guilty to transporting stolen goods across state lines in May. Prosecutors reported that he had taken heads, faces, brains, skin, and hands from cadavers in the morgue to his home in Goffstown, New Hampshire, before selling them.

Lodge's wife, Denise, received a one-year prison sentence for her involvement in facilitating the sale of the stolen body parts to several individuals, including two people in Pennsylvania, who primarily resold them.

Prosecutors requested a 10-year sentence for Lodge, citing the seriousness of the crime, which targeted the "oddities" community. Lodge's lawyer requested leniency, acknowledging the harm caused to both the deceased and their families.
