Recent updates regarding the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine indicate that modifications proposed by European countries and Ukraine to the United States' peace proposals have not been deemed beneficial. Yury Ushakov, a senior foreign policy aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, stated that these changes do not enhance the potential for achieving long-term peace.
The original proposals, drafted by the United States and leaked last month, have prompted concerns from European and Ukrainian parties. These parties believe the proposals may excessively accommodate Russia's demands and could potentially pressure Ukraine into making significant concessions.
In response, European and Ukrainian negotiators have engaged in discussions with representatives from the United States to integrate their perspectives into the proposals. However, the specific details of the revised proposals remain undisclosed.
Following a meeting in Florida between Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev, US special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, Dmitriev indicated that discussions would continue. This meeting followed prior talks between US, European, and Ukrainian officials. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of continued consultations with European allies in light of these discussions.

In the Sumy region of Ukraine, military conflict persists as Ukrainian forces confront an attempted Russian breakthrough. The Ukrainian joint task force reported ongoing battles in the village of Grabovske, with efforts focused on repelling Russian forces. Reports have also emerged of Moscow relocating civilians from a border village in the area.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy noted that Russia has launched approximately 1,300 attack drones, nearly 1,200 guided aerial bombs, and nine missiles of various types over the past week. The conflict, which escalated into a full-scale invasion by Russia in February 2022, follows eight years of military activity in Ukraine's eastern regions.
