Europe faces a potential threat termed as “civilizational erasure”. Ending the war in Ukraine is identified as a “core” US interest. A shift towards restoring strategic stability with Moscow is emphasized.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on Sunday that these changes “correspond in many ways to our vision”.
The strategy includes language addressing the perception of NATO as a perpetually expanding alliance, which Moscow has historically opposed due to security concerns.
