According to an interview with France 2 TV, President Zelenskyy confirmed that both professional soldiers and conscripts account for these numbers. The exact number of missing individuals remains unspecified.
In a previous statement from February 2025, President Zelenskyy reported that over 46,000 Ukrainian service members had perished. A mid-2025 estimate by the Center for Strategic and International Studies suggested about 400,000 Ukrainian troops had been either killed or wounded since the onset of the conflict.
Furthermore, the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine documented that 2,514 civilians were killed and 12,142 injured in 2025, marking a significant increase from the previous year.
