Picsart Launches No-Minimum Monetization Program for AI Creators
AI design giant Picsart launches a monetization program open to all, paying creators based on engagement rather than follower counts.

Picsart Disrupts the Creator Economy with New Pay-by-Performance Model
In a strategic shift from a pure utility tool to a comprehensive creator ecosystem, the AI-powered design giant Picsart has officially launched its first creator monetization program. Unlike established social media platforms that often gate revenue behind strict follower counts or invitation-only lists, Picsart’s new initiative is open to all users regardless of their audience size.
The program, dubbed "Earn with Picsart," aims to address what founder and CEO Hovhannes Avoyan describes as a "structural problem" in the digital landscape: the historical failure of major platforms to compensate everyday creators for their creative output.
How the Monetization Model Works
The program operates on a campaign-based structure. Once signed up, creators enter a dedicated dashboard where they can browse various creative challenges and prompts.
- The Process: Creators use Picsart’s suite of tools—including Picsart Aura, the company's AI conversational assistant—to generate content based on specific briefs.
- Examples: A campaign might task a creator with generating and animating "cute fluffy creatures" using text or voice prompts via AI.
- Distribution: After creating the asset, users share it on their personal social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X) using specific campaign tags.
- Validation: Participants must submit a link to their live post and provide a brief description of the creative workflow they utilized within the app.
Performance Over Popularity
The cornerstone of Picsart’s strategy is its focus on engagement rather than scale. Earnings are calculated based on raw metrics—views, comments, shares, and reach—meaning a "micro-creator" with high engagement can potentially out-earn an influencer with a large but passive following.

However, the company warns that low-effort AI generation will not be a shortcut to wealth. "Simply generating and posting AI images without creative efforts won’t drive meaningful engagement or earnings," the company noted, emphasizing that the human "remix" and creative direction remain central to the value of the content.
A Growing Ecosystem
The monetization launch marks another milestone for the platform, which achieved "unicorn" status in 2021 and currently boasts over 130 million users globally. It follows on the heels of several major AI integrations, including a recently announced AI agent marketplace where users can hire specialized assistants for tasks like Shopify product editing and social media resizing.
"We’ve always believed that creativity should be for everyone—and now, so should the rewards," said Avoyan.
Payments are managed through Stripe, allowing creators to track their earnings in real-time and withdraw funds directly from their dashboard. By democratizing access to revenue, Picsart is positioning itself as a more equitable alternative for the next generation of digital artists and short-form video editors.
