Over the past year, more than 6,000 new security positions were advertised in the UK, marking a 14% increase from the previous year. Specifically, Information Security Analysts saw over 3,100 new vacancies, a 29% year-over-year increase, while Information Security Managers had over 1,300 postings, reflecting an 8% rise.
With the growing demand, salaries for cybersecurity professionals are increasing. The median salary for cybersecurity positions in 2024 was approximately £55,000. Companies are offering premium salaries to attract talent, although long-term strategies include providing comprehensive employment packages encompassing career development and flexible working options.
