While the iPhone 18 Pro dummies appear nearly identical to the previous year’s iPhone 17 Pro models, the foldable unit stands out due to its unusual dimensions. Squatter and broader than traditional book-style foldables, the design draws comparisons to the first-generation Google Pixel Fold, though it appears even more expansive.

According to a report from Nikkei Asia, early engineering tests have hit significant roadblocks. Sources indicate that "engineering challenges" regarding production stability are taking longer to resolve than the initial internal timeline allowed.
"Apple and the supply chain are working under a pressured timeline and the current solutions are not enough to completely solve the engineering challenges," a source told Nikkei.
Launch Timeline
Historically, Apple has been expected to debut the foldable alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series in its traditional September window, with a standard iPhone 18 model slated for 2027. However, high-profile analysts, including Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, now suggest that while the device might be revealed in September, the actual shipping date could be pushed back by several months as Apple fine-tunes the complex hardware.
