Many women, displaced from their homes, are seeking refuge in temporary shelters in Port-au-Prince. The deteriorating conditions have exacerbated their vulnerability to sexual violence.
According to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), there has been a marked increase in cases of sexual and gender-based violence. The organization has reported a tripling of sexual abuse cases over the past four years, with 70% of the affected individuals being displaced.
